Unique Ideas for Father’s Day

Here are six activities to do with the quirky papa. Despite what Hallmark says, some dads don’t love sports, fixing cars, beer, or being a grill master, but rather they may enjoy art, hiking, the ballet, and/or sci-fi fantasy games instead.

Here are some fun and unique ideas to do on Father’s Day with your one-of-a-kind dad:

Is the father figure in your life into games? Have a board game day or if you really want to go all out, set up a special game of Dungeons and Dragons for the family and make it Father’s Day themed. You can find a starter set at any local game shop.

Remember to bring the 20-sided dice cookies and wizard popcorn with dusted cheese and edible purple sparkles. You can find them on Amazon or at Michaels. Dads can love glitter too!

Perhaps he’s more artistic… Check out a local paint night, or go to your local craft store for supplies to have a DIY paint day in the park with the family. This one is great to do with the kids.

Bring some mini pies, such as meat and fruit pies, and Dad’s favorite picnic snacks!

If he’s more of a homebody, whip up a T&C Gourmet Pasta Kit together. Jump into the kitchen all together with some Dean Martin playing in the background and create a delicious Italian meal. We’ll give you the pasta, sauce, and bread sticks in one easy box.

Then watch his favorite movie of all time while you eat!

Or maybe Pops is more of the outdoorsy type. Hike the hills together or go on a camping trip. Remember to bring this delicious s’mores dip to the fire!

Instructions: Place a layer of crushed graham crackers, a layer of chocolate chips, and a layer of marshmallows in a buttered skillet, cover with tinfoil, and place over a 400ºF fire. Remove from grill after 7-8 minutes and serve with extra graham crackers to dip. You can also bake in a pre-heated 450º oven for 4-5 minutes.

The Baked Potato

Some dads love their jazz music. Have you ever been to the Baked Potato in Studio City? Catch some live jazz and eat an epic sized baked potato, smothered in delicious toppings of any style. He will be ecstatic, and you can bring the kids!

Sometimes Dad just wants to be celebrated with some practical help. Throw on some fun upbeat music, and do a house hold project together like starting the vegetable garden he’s always wanted.

Remember to have his favorite foods on deck throughout the day! :)
